One-Pot Spaghetti with  Tomato-Meat Sauce

This meal is perfect for the beginner cook. No need to worry about a separate pan to boil spaghetti. The noodles cook right in the sauce in this no-fuss dinner recipe.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 12 ounces (350 g) spaghetti broken in half
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 pound (500 g) ground pork
  • 2 large tomatoes peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1,5 cups water
  • 0,5 teaspoon dried oregano crumbled
  • 0,5 teaspoon dried basil crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • black pepper, salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup parmesan or mozzarella cheese


  1. Heat up oil in large pan. Add chopped onion and garlic and saute on medium heat for 2 minutes.

  2. Add meat and fry for a few minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spatula. 

  3. Break spaghetti noodles in half and add to pan.

  4. Add water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and sugar. 

  5. Reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook, stirring often, until noodles are cooked through, 12 to 15 minutes.

  6. Serve immediately topped with cheese.
